Our Story

The Inspiration behind The Armchair Adventures

From Our Founder

When my mom, Julie, turned 82, she began having trouble getting around. I saw her spirit dim a little, and from miles away, I wanted to bring the world back to her. With her iPad in hand, I introduced her to virtual travel — a way to explore beautiful places safely from home. Soon, she was “soaring” to Paris, Rome, and beyond with a single tap.

Our sessions became a joyful ritual. She learned new things, stayed safe online, and found laughter again. I even shared my live screen and GPS so she could “travel with me” wherever I went — from city to city, across continents. My brother David, joined in too, and together, we gave her a window to the world.

Mom became the original Armchair Adventurer. Even after she passed in 2022, her spirit inspired this project — a loving way for others to explore, learn, and feel connected. Because the truth is, no one is ever truly alone when they can still see the world with wonder.
